New Sponsorships

2016 saw Blackpool Illuminations and Blackpool businesses form partnerships and work together. If you wish to join us for 2017, please contact Dave Riche or call 01253 476426.

Beach House Boulevard

One of Blackpool’s newest and most popular bar and restaurants, the Beach House, has its own section in the heart of the display – Beach House Boulevard.

Lighting up a section of the Illuminations from Talbot Square up to their venue, next to the wedding chapel in a spectacular way. Millions of LEDs will adorn the Promenade in blue and white – the colours of the Beach House. The deal runs until the end of 2021.

Mandarin Lanterns

Blackpool’s long-established Chinese restaurant, Michael Wan’s Mandarin, is also supporting Blackpool Illuminations, having signed up for a two year light box display between Gynn Island and the Hilton Hotel.

The Best Western Carlton Hotel

One of Blackpool’s key hotels was rethemed for 2016 with a throwback to the halcyon days of the seaside resort.

As part of this, they sponsored the new Official Illuminations Programme 2016.

The idea came about by looking at the old souvenir programmes and thinking why isn’t this done anymore. Working with Andrew Hazelhurst and taking photos from the Official Illuminations Archive this is a quality production, and we look forward to working on another next year.

Renewals of Sponsorship:

Beaverbrooks – recently extended their sponsorship into a tenth year – sponsoring the Bling section until the end of 2017.

KRS Arches – extended their sponsorship of the Mirrorball Arches for a further three years until the end of 2018.

Evivo – sponsor the Dynamo section and continuing their generous support in 2016 to which we are delighted.

Hounds Hill – Alice in Wonderland tableau now in its third year and a massive thanks to all their support in promoting the Illuminations and LightPool

McDonalds – into the second year of their new deal. McDonalds have a long standing relationship with the Illuminations.

Graham and Brown – sponsors of the Art For Walls section which is in its new South Shore location.

Sands Venue – sponsors of the Ballroom Glitz section outside their venue which is now into its second year.

Friends of the Illuminations

The Friends of Blackpool Illuminations raise lots of money for the Blackpool Illuminations. So we devoted a section to them to honour their fantastic work with the “Buy a Lamp” campaign which has raised more than £4,500.

Blackpool FC Illuminated Tram

In 2010, late Fleetwood solicitor Trevor Jones acquired tramcar 641 due to his involvement with the Fleetwood Heritage Leisure Trust. Furthermore, he was a lifelong Blackpool FC fan. Because of his contributions to the town, his legacy has been celebrated in a very special way. Commemorating him and the town’s affinity with its football club was a truly magical part of the 2015 Illuminations display.

The tram was painted bright orange and flew a special banner celebrating the achievements of the club. Blackpool FC and football historian John Cross are to thank for this. The tram was based near the Blackpool Pleasure Beach and enjoyed by all who laid eyes on it. In addition, the tram is also raising awareness for the Gary Parkinson appeal.
